Cañari Lineage holders will open the weekend earlier in the day, with the creation of the Cuy ñaña. An altar enriched with offerings for Mother Gaia accompanied by Indigenous master musicians from Cañar. Ceremonial guides, (Yachaks), musicians and ONSITE Summit Participants will ascend the mountain to the Temple of Light. Together we will make our first offering to the Blue Mountain and salute the seven directions (onsite attendees only).

SACRED ALL NIGHT EQUINOX CEREMONY. Mushuk Nina, a Kichwa term that means new fire, is the Cañari ritual only performed on March 21 of each year. Honoring our vast cosmic and universal connection when the sun is the closest distance from the earth. This astronomical event marks the beginning of the new season. THE REBIRTH OF HUMANITY AS ONENESS!
The All-Night Equinox Ceremony Begins with prayers to the First Tobacco of Purpose, Optional Sacred Medicine Journey and opening our hearts with the drum. Throughout the evening there will be Medicine Music, along with the Honoring of the Sacred Water and Mythical Birds Cañaris Cuibibi and Sindula. On the Equinox, 4:22 AM, we raise our prayers to the Universe. At Sunrise, we greet the 7 directions and dance before the new light! Ceremony culminates with the guide of Grandfather Condor.

Those who chose not to participate in the ALL NIGHT Equinox Ceremony may Ascend the mountain for the ongoing ceremonies and morning temple blessings.

Evening Temple of Light Ceremony. We begin by saluting the 7 directions; honoring the grandmothers stones for the Temazcal (Rupak Puyu) and preparing the medicines for this travel ceremony to the center of Pachamama.
We will raise the fire that heats the grandmothers stones, LIVE Andean Medicine Music and optional ingestion of the Sacred Medicine. As a group, we enter the Temazcal/Rupak Puyu (constructed at the Temple of Light by the Cañari).
We are re-born from the Temazcal! And cleansed in the flowering bath waters of flowers, honey, cinnamon and local herbs in the Cañari Tradition.

to FINAL Consecration ceremonies and morning temple experience.
At the Temple of Light, the pachamanca is sown and allowed to cook (a hole or “pot” is dug into the earth, along with layers of hot rocks and vegetarian foods to be slowly cooked for 2 hours)
At the Temple of Light, the pachamanca is opened & harvested! Fresh foods of the earth are enjoyed by all! Cañari Lineageholders close the event with final ceremony and songs to the Mountain.
